Alcohol ÷ East village artist=

Being surrounded while working on a "piece" is kind of a new to me. It's definitely a flattering experience, knowing that what ever it is you're doing is interested enough for the attention. It's fun being in the mix of a social event while doing art, the later it got the more entertaining the patrons got. Everything came my way, from drunken offers to buy my work, to symbolic break downs and critiques. The formula: Upper class social event + alcohol ÷ East village artist= future work and great connections, and an overall good time.

Graffiti without danger.

It's been awhile since I've posted, but it's been "work work work", it's a good thing though and I hope it stays that way. I have much more work I'll be posting up here in the next couple of days. Tonight I'll be doing "Live art" at a club with an undisclosed location. This is like doing Graffiti, without the dangers of a cops beating you or moving trains crushing your feet. It kinda takes the excitement out of it, but it should still be fun. Here's the invite. If you're around the lower east side tonight come check it out, I think tickets are like $50 bucks, and I've already used my guest list, so if you can't afford it maybe I'll catch up with you later.

some fun and exercise

So I scribbled this little doodle of Boba Fett in my sketchbook last night, just for fun I brought it into photoshop to play around with a concept. Still not sure where I was going with it, but it came out pretty cool. Anyway, it's nice to be creative for the sake of having some fun.

Some work for a friend... I hope he makes me famous.

I have a good friend from college whose a musician. Unlike most people that claim to be musicians and be on their way up, he really is. And I'm not too proud to say I'd like to tag along with him. I actually really dig his music. It sort of blends a lot of the styles that I already like and he does a great job melding it into something I really haven't heard much of.

His music lends itself well to visuals, really all I want to do is create artistic visuals for his work full time, but since we're both STSA (see previous entry) there's no money to be had, yet. Anyway here are some concept/drafts from today's work. mind you I have over 30 different designs for one CD cover, these are the most recent.

This is the beginning of another abusive relationship.

Well, I guess I can use this account to keep track of my life as a struggling 20 something artist. Here I can document my success, accomplishments, failures, and daily doings of an STSA (from here on out struggling 20 something artist will be referred to as: STSA). So come along with me on this web 2.0 journey, in to the world of the STSA. Hopefully you and I will learn something from these cautionary tales along the way.
